Job Title: Software Development & DevOps Engineer

Comcast Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Software Development & DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Next Generation Access Networks organization, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge software applications that drive innovation and excellence in our industry.

Job Summary

The Software Development & DevOps Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and actively managing operational technical challenges in our Core Virtualization project, as well as operational related software development. You will work collaboratively with our team to design and lead operational needs to reach the highest levels of system availability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software applications using microservice architecture, containerized deployment, and Docker.
  • Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in software release and deployment activities managed under an agile software development approach.
  • Support production environments, perform troubleshooting, and produce root cause analysis.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in software development, DevOps, and cloud engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of microservice architecture, containerization, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments, networking protocols, and data serialization formats.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experience with operational open source tools and technologies.
  • Experience with shell scripting, test-driven development, and continuous integration.
