We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CT Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida West Tampa Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Select and operate the appropriate technical factors for each study, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
- Perform and complete diagnostic CT examinations in a caring and compassionate manner, adhering to established standards and practices.
- Assist in the administration of contrast media and other related procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare, transfer, and position patients as needed, maintaining modesty and safety.
- Document all pertinent clinical information prior to the exam, obtain informed consent, and complete all required fields within the electronic medical record system.
- Obtain high-quality CT images, ensuring only optimal images are submitted for interpretation.
- Remain proficient in executing software protocols and stay up-to-date with changes in the field through in-service study, attending courses or seminars as necessary.
- Maintain proactive and effective communication with patients and other caregiver colleagues, including the radiologist.
- Check the operation of equipment, maintain cleanliness of the table and equipment, and keep the room stocked with linens and necessary supplies.
- Accept on-call and call-back responsibilities as needed to provide optimum patient care.
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology program at an accredited, AMA-approved institution.
- Valid ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications.
- Clear/active Florida Department of Health licensure (CRT).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of equipment specific to CT and X-ray.
- Knowledge of safety practices relative to radiation safety, hazardous materials, and infection control policies.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique, and patient positioning techniques specific to CT and X-ray.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, and/or lifting of patients/equipment (100+/- lbs.).
