Speech-Language Pathologist Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in a center-based program serving students with intellectual disabilities. This position involves providing comprehensive speech and language services to students from Kindergarten to 5th grade, ensuring their communication needs are met in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Responsibilities:
  • Conducting assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans to address students' speech and language goals as per their IEPs.
  • Providing direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
  • Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff to optimize students' communication skills within the school environment.
  • Participating in IEP meetings to discuss students' progress and recommendations for ongoing therapy.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and other assistive technologies used by students with disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the diverse needs of students with intellectual disabilities.
