Job Title: Escrow Officer

At Old Republic Title, we are seeking a highly skilled Escrow Officer to join our team. As an Escrow Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of real estate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate and confirm transaction information with principals, lenders, agents, and other parties.
  • Prepare escrow instructions, draw documents, and issue title policies.
  • Balance figures and closing funds, prepare files for disbursement, and create disbursement packages.
  • Meet all escrow/title conditions required by lenders and purchase contracts.
  • Prepare Seller CD/ALTA/HUD settlement statements detailing the accounting of the transaction in accordance with state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Verify and review all information in the preliminary report/title commitment, clearing title requirements by researching discrepancies and working with underwriters and title officers.
  • Request the issuance of title policies or other evidence of title.
  • Train, guide, assign, and review the work of one or more escrow assistants.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Department to maintain existing customers and generate new business.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of escrow experience in the State of New Mexico.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of title insurance policies, endorsements, and title pricing.
  • In-depth knowledge of escrow documents, escrow fees, and terminology.
  • Ability to process multiple types of transactions without assistance.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting prescribed deadlines.
  • Notary Commission preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.
  • Clear, grammatically correct, and business-appropriate written and verbal communications.
Physical and Mental Demands:
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and be flexible with disruptions throughout the workday.
  • Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors.
