Jemcare is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Expressive Therapy Provider to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in helping children and young adults better understand and express their emotions through creative and kinesthetic treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Therapeutic Plans: Use music, art, and/or play therapies as a creative process to explore patients' feelings, reconcile emotional conflicts, foster self-awareness, and make memories.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and family members about expressive therapies, including their benefits, purpose, and ways to incorporate them into daily life.
- Therapeutic Goal Setting: Establish therapeutic goals or objectives for creative or expressive art therapy sessions.
- Activity Organization: Organize expressive activities for recreation and provide patient treatment via expressive therapy.
- Engagement and Coping Strategies: Incorporate engaging and expressive activities to help members cope with life changes, trauma, and other challenges.
- Advocacy and Support: Help children better understand and express their reactions through expressive modalities and act as the patient's advocate in relation to Expressive Therapy.
- Caseload Management: Maintain a caseload and ensure accurate and timely individualized assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation.
- Service Plan Updates: Regularly update service plans, obtaining medical consenter signatures and ensuring plans reflect members' evolving needs.
- Documentation and Reporting: Adhere to all documentation requirements, submitting progress notes, service plans, expense logs, and service provider logs in a timely manner.
- Certifications and Qualifications: Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy, credentialed as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), Master's degree in Play Therapy, or Registration of Play Therapy (RPT).
- Experience: Minimum of one year working with the medically fragile population and minimum of one year of clinical experience with pediatric population, preferably involving end-of-life care.
