Physical Therapist Instructor

Job Title: Instructor/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor- DPT
Job Summary: The Texas A&M University-Texarkana Department of Physical Therapy is seeking applications for tenure track and non-tenure track faculty members to join our team. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program, as well as contributing to the development of our curriculum and research initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Teach and mentor students in our Doctor of Physical Therapy program
- Contribute to the development of our curriculum and research initiatives
- Participate in department, college, and university service activities
- Engage in scholarly research and activities
Qualifications:
- Terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, ScD, etc.) for tenure track positions
- DPT degree for non-tenure track positions
- Active, unrestricted Physical Therapy license in any state
- Minimum of three years of full-time clinical practice following licensure for tenure track positions
- Strong leadership skills and a vision for excellence
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to teach DPT coursework
- Knowledge of CAPTE accreditation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Participation in a minimum of one CAPTE Self Study
- Specialty certification (CCS, GCS, OCS, NCS, PCS, OS, WCS, ECS, SCS, WCS) or equivalent
- Higher education certification in active learning, hybrid education, teaching models, curriculum, or similar
