Position Overview:

As a Senior Formulation Scientist, you will engage in a range of responsibilities associated with the development and consumer acceptance of chemical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop chemical formulations that adhere to internal ingredient specifications and meet project timelines while ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety and accuracy.
  • Conduct performance evaluations against established benchmarks to guarantee optimal functionality and high-quality performance.
  • Refine formulation components to effectively manage costs and ensure the availability of necessary ingredients.
  • Oversee stability assessments, including initial production run evaluations, and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Prepare samples and manage documentation for microbiological and toxicological testing, coordinating external evaluations with relevant resources.
  • Engage with chemical suppliers to stay informed about new raw materials and explore alternative sourcing options to achieve cost efficiency.
  • Analyze competitor products and compile technical reports based on standardized comparative assessments.
  • Explore innovative raw materials and technologies through laboratory experiments, documenting findings and proposing potential applications.
  • Assist in addressing technical inquiries from consumers regarding product ingredients, usage, and potential adverse effects.
  • Support the training of sales teams on new product launches prior to distribution.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date laboratory database.
  • Participate in problem-solving initiatives and conduct laboratory evaluations on both new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Quality Control, Analytical Services, and external partners, including vendors and potential customers.
  • Conduct field assessments related to formulations, raw materials, finished products, and manufacturing processes.
  • Review scientific literature, technical reports, and vendor documentation relevant to the specialty chemical sector.
  • Collect empirical data from Quality Control and Technical Services to establish Product Development specifications for new materials and enhancements of existing products.
  • Adhere to all applicable OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements, along with company safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related discipline; advanced education is preferred.
