Catholic Music Director

Job Title: Catholic Music Director Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Catholic Music Director to lead our worship services and choir. Responsibilities: * Conduct rehearsals and performances for the Catholic Worship Services, obtaining approval from the Catholic Priest as needed. * Direct the 1030 and 1700 Mass on Sunday, selecting and coordinating music with the Catholic Priest and Musician. * Work with the Catholic Priest to select and direct special music, recruiting and training choir members as needed. * Be responsible for all requests for equipment and facilities utilized by the choir. Requirements: * Practical experience in reading, singing, and directing music. * Working knowledge of worship music used in Catholic Worship settings and ability to learn and direct new songs. * Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with chaplain corps members, choir directors, and members of other faith groups. Working Conditions: * Work is performed in a worship setting, with regular attendance at Mass and other worship services required. * Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills. Education/Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent required, with a degree in music or related field preferred. * Must have a valid driver's license and be able to travel as needed. Security Clearance: * Must have a Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance as needed. Work Schedule: * Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Job Type: * Full-time Location: * Patrick Air Force Base, FL Travel: * N/A Duties: * Conduct rehearsals and performances for at least half an hour, but no more than two and for the Catholic Worship Services. Obtain the Catholic Priest's approval for special music and activities. * Direct the 1030 and 1700 Mass on Sunday * Choose the songs for the worship service and coordinate these songs with the Catholic Priest or his designee, and the Musician. * Work with the Catholic Priest to select and direct special music when needed. * Recruit and train members for the choir. * Be responsible for all requests for equipment and facilities utilized by the choir. Education/Qualifications: * Have practical experience for proficiency in reading, singing, and directing music. * Have a working knowledge of worship music used in Catholic Worship settings and an ability to learn and direct new songs. * Will be on time. Will contact supervising chaplain or delegate if there is a time conflict. Will maintain professional appearance. * Present qualities that demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with chaplain corps members, choir directors, choir members, and members of other faith groups for ecumenical and interfaith services.
