Job Title: After Hours Registered Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team as an After Hours Registered Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our participants during after-hours periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional assessments and prioritize treatments according to the urgency of need.
  • Manage urgent issues in collaboration with Primary Care Providers, paramedics, pharmacy staff, administration staff, and hospital transitions.
  • Respond promptly to incoming calls and perform patient assessments to determine the appropriate level of care required.
  • Communicate and collaborate with paramedics, pharmacy, administration, home care coordinator, and primary care provider on call.
  • Initiate emergency treatment if necessary and initiate hospital transitions.
  • Document patient information thoroughly and accurately using approved computer software.
  • Participate in ongoing in-service programs, staff meetings, continuous quality improvement, and performance evaluations.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Nurse licensure in the State of Michigan (LPN, RN).
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with the frail, elderly, or long-term care population.
  • Minimum of one year of home care experience.
  • Minimum 2 years working in nursing.
  • Participation in continuing education programs.
  • Familiarity/experience with participant interactions on telephone.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, coworkers, staff, and medical service providers.
  • Effective communication and people skills.

Working Conditions:
This position can be done remotely. The After-Hours Registered Nurse will have access to a computer terminal and telephonic equipment to be used in remote/home office. The position requires stationary position for much of the time and constant operation of computer equipment that requires manual dexterity and programs that require color distinction.
