Cyber Database Architect Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Database Architect to join our team at RIT Solutions, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cyber security data and be able to develop and implement effective architecture and engineering safeguards to protect data stores.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement database architecture and engineering safeguards to protect cyber security data
  • Perform requirements analysis and develop strategies and solutions for cyber security, risk, and information governance
  • Help identify and evaluate gaps and potential areas of security exposure
  • Design, develop, and build unstructured data streams from various data sources, including database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata, and repository creation
  • Define and oversee database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
  • Provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a data base environment
  • Advising applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, database management system facilities, and capabilities
  • Ensure economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards
  • Design and implement databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection, and security
  • Use data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases
  • Determine data storage and optimum storage requirements
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis, and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, Master's degree and 6 years of experience, or 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in building out Data Warehouses/Data models/Data repositories, and/or Data Lakes
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in leveraging pre-load data pull from a mature data model
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in creating consolidated data sets that conforms to a Common Information Model made up of sensor tool data sources that's already aggregated together & is also already searchable
  • Minimum of 3 years transforming already good data (data that has been normalized) into the format needed for ingestion by Xacta
  • IO and CDM Elastic
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in creating data pipelines to allow transfer of data from data source to I/O through Splunk
  • Minimum 4 years of experience creating data Information Identifiers/tag Identifies within data models
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with data source sensor tools such as Tanium, Nessus, McAfee, firewalls, networking equipment to collect data points
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with creating data tattoos and with mapping data back to the tattoo as defined
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with taking Production ready data and include it in Cyber Risk data model(s)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Public Trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exceptional technical writing skills
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way
  • Ability to visualize data in the most effective way possible for a given project or study
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with machine learning and AI
  • Familiarity with data management tools
  • Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
  • Excellent attention to detail
