Quality Assurance and Compliance:
The Point-of-Care Testing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adherence to established protocols set forth by manufacturers and regulatory bodies. This role involves the oversight of equipment utilized for point-of-care testing, such as blood analysis, to guarantee precise and dependable outcomes. A robust quality control program is implemented and sustained, ensuring alignment with relevant regulations and safety protocols.

Proficiency Testing:
This position entails the periodic analysis and evaluation of proficiency testing samples. It is essential to maintain test records and attestation documents to confirm that proficiency testing samples are handled with the same rigor as patient samples.

Documentation:
All necessary records and documentation associated with quality assurance and point-of-care testing must be meticulously completed. The Coordinator is tasked with preparing annual evaluations of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory compliance.

Licensing and Accreditation:
Monitoring the licensing status from accreditation agencies is a key responsibility. The Coordinator will assist in the preparation of licensing and renewal documentation as required.

Education and Training:
Identifying training requirements for staff involved in testing is crucial. The Coordinator ensures that regular in-service training and educational opportunities are provided for testing personnel, while also evaluating their competency.

Equipment Selection and Implementation:
Participation in the assessment, selection, and deployment of point-of-care testing equipment is expected. The Coordinator supports the facility's service needs by ensuring that the appropriate equipment is available.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a clinical laboratory environment focusing on quality assurance and/or point-of-care testing is required.

Education:
A 2-year associate degree is mandatory, while a 4-year bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred.

Licensing:
A State of Florida Technologist License is essential, or the ability to secure one during the interview process.

Preferred:
A State of Florida Supervisor's License is advantageous.

Travel:
This position typically does not require travel.
