Laboratory Technician

Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the R&D Microbiology and Particulate laboratory. This position involves preparing samples and supplies for testing, disinfection, cleaning, microbial ingress, sub-visible particulate testing, and managing the preventive maintenance, calibration, and validation initiatives for all laboratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples and supplies for testing, including microbiological and particulate testing.
- Support disinfection and cleaning validation studies with BSL2 microorganisms.
- Support microbial ingress testing with BSL2 microorganisms.
- Support sub-visible, injected particulate testing.
- Perform microbiological and particulate sample processing via vacuum filtration.
- Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, including water purification systems.
- Review and manage laboratory records, including paperwork and scanning.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in a science or engineering discipline or 2-year trade/military school and 5 years of microbiology/chemistry laboratory experience.
- Ability to work under minimal direction and comply with established procedures.
- Working knowledge of PC computer systems, including Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Clear high performance orientation and commitment to completion of agreed-upon objectives.
