Responsible for managing all associated parts linked to MRP messages, including but not limited to procurement, expedite, deferment, and cancellation.

Collaborate with the home site and engineering teams regarding any DCR communications related to the assigned commodity or supplier as directed by the commodity supervisor.

Ensure that supplier performance metrics are established and achieved.

Maintain the BSP for assigned suppliers and parts, working alongside the home site and suppliers to strive for a 100% goal in BSP utilization.

Procures materials, components, supplies, and equipment in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures, focusing on optimizing price, delivery, and terms; typically oversees purchases amounting to 5 million annually; may also engage in product development with suppliers; items are generally build-to-print, often involving complex or obsolete designs, sole or single-source technologies, or components such as machined parts that require multiple sequential fabrication steps.

Responsible for the performance of assigned suppliers, particularly in terms of Delivery, Cost, and Capacity/Recovery (impacting MRP health) Schedule performance, including diagnosing and escalating issues that affect production in these areas; Supplier Quality resources are available to assist with these types of supplier deficiencies, but Buyer support is often necessary.

Reviews and issues purchase requisitions; follows up and expedites as needed.

Works collaboratively across functions, especially with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials, Receiving, Inspection, Operations, Finance, Customer Service, and Production Planning to coordinate purchase timing, quantities, pricing, and goods delivery/storage, in support of business objectives related to output, efficiency, and inventory cost.

Performs other related duties and projects as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree and/or four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven ability to deliver results in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with JDE MRP / ERP systems.
Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and identify material specifications.
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in Aerospace procurement.
Familiarity with and participation in AS9100 Quality Requirements.
