Clinical Assessment Specialist

As a Clinical Assessment Clinician with DCH Health System, you will play a vital role in determining the best course of action for patients in need of behavioral health services. Your expertise will be essential in conducting thorough assessments, providing clinical interventions, and working with referral sources to facilitate admissions to our behavioral health units.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure patient dignity and respect patient values
Answer phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner, responding accurately to all requests for information and routine phone calls
Greet visitors, patients, and their families, displaying an empathetic and helpful attitude
Operate within ethical standards
Schedule assessments and appointments accurately
Identify areas needing improvement and utilize the facility performance improvement process
Respond quickly and accurately to all intake calls to the unit
Gather and record information on intake forms accurately
Display good communication and patient assessment skills
Communicate results and trends to Manager
Provide feedback to Manager on ongoing basis in regards to concerns, improvements, changes, etc.
Requirements
Masters in Social Work (MSW), with licensure, Licensed Counselor, or Registered RN
Current Alabama licensure required
Minimum two years' experience in a psychiatric setting preferred
Good communication and patient assessment skills
Ability to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
Working Conditions
Potential exposure to communicable diseases and blood and/or body fluids
Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment
CRT monitor exposure
Sedentary work with periods of standing, walking, sitting, and repetitive tasks/motions
Must have good manual dexterity
Physical presence onsite is essential
Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range
Able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
