Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pipe Welder to join our team at Matrix Service Inc. as a Fabrication Shop Pipe Welder. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in welding and fabrication, with a focus on pipe welding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding functions per jobsite specifications, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and its Core Values, promoting a culture of excellence and responsibility.
  • Represent the Company at all times with high moral standards, adhering to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Work collaboratively with peers, supervision, and the QA/QC Department to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Select equipment and plan layout and assembly of welding, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Weld pipe of all kinds, sizes, and alloys by process of ARC, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, GAS, MIG, TIG, etc., meeting or exceeding industry standards.
  • Weld high- and low-pressure pipe per specifications, with all welds subject to NDE testing, including visual, hydro, and 100% x-ray.
  • Fit up pipe in some instances, as well as perform grinding when required, demonstrating versatility and adaptability.
  • Weld on structural steel, handrails, brackets, non-piping components, etc., showcasing expertise and attention to detail.
  • Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy, ensuring high-quality results and minimizing errors.
  • Must possess current certification in SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW or FCAW, demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by supervision, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • Identify safety hazards and take corrective action to eliminate or minimize risks, promoting a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience, with a strong background in welding and fabrication.
  • A general knowledge of basic hand tools, with the ability to operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must be able to pass a practical welding skill test required by the jobsite, demonstrating proficiency and expertise.
  • Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training, and Client/Site-specific training, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the required drug testing program, demonstrating a commitment to a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Must pass a background check, ensuring a secure and trustworthy work environment.
  • TWIC card preferred, but not required.
