Job SummaryTo prepare and serve food in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and facility policies, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise food production and presentation to meet quality and presentation standards.
- Review menu extensions prior to preparation of foods to ensure accuracy and adherence to dietary guidelines.
- Suggest menu changes to assist Corporate Dietitian in development of menus that cater to diverse resident needs.
- Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, including therapeutic diets, and ensure palatability and appearance.
- Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures and maintain accurate records.
- Assure resident meal trays are correct and complete, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Use and teach proper food handling techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Complete daily and scheduled cleaning tasks to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
- Assist in receiving and storing incoming food, supplies, and equipment, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Make menu substitutions as necessary and record these on designated forms.
- Meet time schedule for meals and snacks, and report any delays or issues to supervisor.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and hazardous conditions to supervisor immediately.
- Recommend equipment and supply needs to supervisor to ensure efficient operations.
- Attend staff meetings, in-services, and training sessions as scheduled to stay up-to-date on policies and procedures.
- Supervise the Dietary Department in absence of Supervisor, and perform other duties as assigned.
