    • Explain procedures and actions to reduce anxiety
    • Monitor patients' medical conditions and report significant changes
    • Ensure surgical consent and preoperative test results are documented
    • Provide emotional support to patients and families
    • Document patient care accurately
  • Postoperative Care:
    • Ensure a clean and therapeutic environment for all patients
    • Verify availability of necessary supplies and equipment
    • Admit patients to the unit and monitor recovery from anesthesia and surgery
    • Conduct initial assessments and determine nursing needs
    • Follow and implement physician orders
    • Explain procedures and actions to reduce anxiety
    • Monitor patients' medical conditions and report significant changes
    • Document patient care accurately
    • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Maintain established policies and procedures
    • Maintain confidentiality of patient and business information
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
    • Participate in Quality Assessment activities for continuous improvement
    Requirements
    • High school diploma
    • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or vocational school
    • Licensed to practice in the state
    • Previous preoperative care experience preferred
    • Previous PACU experience preferred
    • ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
    Work Type:
