Dermatologist Part Time Position

This part-time Dermatologist position is available at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. The successful candidate will provide consultative services and develop treatment plans for the management of Veterans in outpatient and Telemedicine settings.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care to patients with dermatology conditions, including diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and education.
- Complete documentation and coding of visits accurately and timely.
- Evaluate, triage, and prioritize dermatology consult requests to ensure timely care for patients.
- Perform excisional or diagnostic skin biopsies and minor skin surgeries.
- Conduct telemedicine visits for patients in outlying clinics.
- Review images from store and forward program to make treatment recommendations or determine urgency of face-to-face evaluation.
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations, and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE).
- Coordinate care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, process improvement teams, and workgroups as requested.
- Complete CME as required to maintain competency in Dermatology and medical licensure.
- Complete HIPAA, Privacy and Security, and other mandatory VA training in a timely manner.
- United States citizenship.
- Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Board Certified or Board eligible in Dermatology.
