We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Part-time Office Assistant to join our team at the Diocese of Yakima in Quincy, Washington. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with our Office Administrator and Pastor, contributing to various aspects of parish operations.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support, communicating effectively with parishioners, and maintaining the overall upkeep of our office environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administrative Support: Greet visitors, answer phones, file documents, perform computer entry tasks, photocopying, and order supplies.
  • Communication: Communicate fluently in English and Spanish, both verbally and in written form, ensuring effective interaction with parishioners.
  • Assistance: Provide support to the Office Administrator and Pastor as needed, including charity requests, social events, mailers, parishioner data entry, bulletin folding, and other duties.
  • Website Maintenance: Keep the parish website information current, ensuring accurate and up-to-date content.
  • Bookstore Management: Maintain the Parish Bookstore stocked with products and sell items as needed.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have basic secretarial skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with website construction and upkeep is also desirable.

What We Offer:
  • A competitive hourly rate of $17.50 - $20.00 per hour (Part-Time).
  • An opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
  • Unpaid holiday time available, currently 11 days per calendar year.
