Job Summary:

This position will support our growing clean energy team in Upstate NY. The successful candidate will help grow and deliver energy efficiency, renewable generation, electrification, decarbonization, commissioning, retro-commissioning, and other clean energy projects throughout the U.S., with a primary focus on the Northeast.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support or lead project execution & delivery within the clean energy space focused primarily on HVAC design, energy and demand measures (energy-efficiency, building/fleet electrification, and behind-the-meter/net metered distributed renewable generation), in addition to some commissioning and retro-commissioning to support facility- or enterprise-wide decarbonization strategies.
  2. Support business growth through successful delivery of projects, development of technical approach for scopes of work, and commitment to client satisfaction.
  3. Review building and energy code, perform load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, system evaluation, HVAC studies and design, work with AutoCAD or Revit for design drawings.
  4. Gather information; evaluate, analyze, and support visualization of energy use data; complete energy efficiency, distributed generation, and alternative energy calculations; complete building and system modeling; complete technical and financial calculations.
  5. Perform or oversee engineering analyses, modeling, and calculations to support execution and delivery of feasibility studies, energy audits, sustainability plans, and detailed designs.
  6. Support or coordinate field activities associated with clean energy projects including energy audits, lighting inventories, implementation oversight, and measurement and verification.
  7. CORRESPOND WITH TASK MANAGERS, PROJECT MANAGERS, PROJECT TEAMS, AND CLIENTS.
  8. Provide technical and business mentorship to junior staff.
  9. Manage project schedule and budget.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  1. 3 or more years of experience in clean energy, MEP design or construction related field.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Energy Engineering, or a related technical degree with proven work experience.

  8. Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to building/mechanical systems, energy efficiency, renewable generation, and other clean energy technologies.
  9. Knowledge of building control systems a plus.
  10. Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  11. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Autodesk Revit a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Prior work experience (5 plus years) in Consulting Engineering or other business working in the MEP or clean energy sector.
  2. PE, CEM or LEED AP certification or other engineering- or energy- or sustainability-related accreditation, certification, or training.
  3. Experience or keen interest in project management and project delivery.

The estimated salary for this position is $76,250 - $150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision, EAP, K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program, and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance, and tuition reimbursement. We also offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year.
