**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled West Virginia University PRT Operations Assistant to join our Transportation unit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system.
Your primary responsibilities will include performing scheduled maintenance inspections and minor repairs to PRT installations and equipment. You will also assist maintenance technicians with scheduled maintenance actions and repairs to all PRT systems, ensuring that our system remains in excellent working condition.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled maintenance inspections and minor repairs to PRT installations and equipment.
- Assist maintenance technicians with scheduled maintenance actions and repairs to all PRT systems.
- Set up PRT vehicles for positioning on or removal from the guideway.
- Participate in emergency teams to remove disabled or failed PRT vehicles from the guideway.
- Perform custodial services, including cleaning passenger station platforms, rooms, fare gates, displays, handrails, windscreens, stairs, lights, etc.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in general labor and maintenance, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
- Up to 18 months of education beyond high school in a vocational field such as mechanical or electrical technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated general trades maintenance or mechanics experience.
