Job Overview
Position Summary


The Cardiovascular Technician Charge oversees the operations within the Electrophysiology Lab, working under the guidance of the department director or manager. This role involves monitoring a variety of procedures, including diagnostic and interventional studies related to coronary and peripheral catheterization, while ensuring optimal patient safety and care. The technician also serves as a scrub assistant during these procedures.


Required Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Associate's Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Respiratory Therapy
  • Alternatively, a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience and:
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of employment) OR
  • Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (to be obtained within 12 months of employment)

Licensure and Certification:

  • Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred) OR
  • Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license with valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification (preferred)
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification OR Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification (required within 12 months of employment if no degree in the applicable fields)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Essential Skills and Additional Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English is essential.
