Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian is a medical nutrition expert responsible for coordinating all phases of nutrition care, including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, monitoring, and evaluation of patients and clients. This role provides medical nutrition therapy services to clients in inpatient areas, educating clients and families both individually and in groups. The Clinical Dietitian participates in promoting organizational standards and may require travel between two campuses to provide dietitian coverage.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics/Nutritional Sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • License/Certifications: A license by the State of Maine is required.
  • Experience: One year of outpatient dietitian practice or a minimum of three years teaching classes and educating patients/clients in an outpatient setting is preferred. At least one year of inpatient hospital experience is also preferred.
  • Certifications: Registration by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration is required.
