Position Overview
The Clinical Educator I position is pivotal in equipping the healthcare workforce for clinical environments through the delivery of competency-based educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
Orientation Training - 50%
- Conducts live onboarding orientation sessions and competencies for newly hired or transferred clinical staff.
- Facilitates clinical training and professional development courses to enhance the skills of clinical team members.
- Provides instructional support to new graduate team members participating in the residency program.
Annual and On-Demand Training - 30%
- Organizes and delivers competency-based annual educational initiatives across the healthcare system.
- Implements live instructional sessions for on-demand educational programs as healthcare services evolve.
Educational Documentation - 10%
- Records assessment results and completion statuses in the learning management system for all educational activities.
- Maintains comprehensive records of all educational offerings.
- Monitors curriculum and assignments in the learning management system to ensure team member compliance.
- Collaborates with educational department colleagues to provide constructive feedback on educational materials.
Knowledge and Competency Maintenance - 10%
- Upholds individual validation requirements necessary for providing competency training to peers.
- Preserves clinical expertise and knowledge in the designated healthcare area for education and training.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role does not include management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant healthcare field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a specialized area.
- Required Certifications: South Carolina Licensed RN - REGISTERED NURSE.
- Preferred: Certification by a specialty board recognized by Magnet and specialized training in areas such as arrhythmia, learning management systems, and electronic medical records.
