Position Overview:

Job Responsibilities:
  • The Sanitation Specialist will report directly to the Environmental Services Director and is tasked with ensuring that the community remains clean and secure for residents, families, staff, and visitors.
  • Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness in common areas and may extend to cleaning resident units and handling personal laundry, including bed linens and towels.
Key Duties:
  • Perform cleaning duties in resident units as assigned.
  • Thoroughly clean bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, bathtubs/showers, countertops, mirrors, and floors.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen areas, including counters and floors.
  • Dust all surfaces while being cautious with residents' belongings.
  • Vacuum all accessible areas.
  • Wash windows from the inside as needed.
  • Clean all common areas, such as hallways, stairs, activity spaces, lobbies, elevators, and model units.
  • Attend to vacant units as assigned.
  • Ensure public restrooms are clean and well-maintained.
  • Keep housekeeping and laundry carts organized at all times.
  • Manage community laundry, utilizing appropriate cleaning products.
  • Follow emergency protocols in case of chemical misuse.
  • Understand and adhere to proper handling procedures for biohazardous waste.
  • Maintain a tidy laundry room and store chemicals according to safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with the Environmental Services Director and other team members.
  • Notify the Environmental Services Director when supplies need to be reordered.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in maintenance is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined spaces.
  • Capability to push and pull equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
Additional Information:
  • Work may include weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • Exposure to infectious waste and various conditions may occur.
  • While performing job duties, you may encounter wet or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or extreme temperatures.
  • Background checks, including criminal and drug tests, will be conducted as required.
  • Participation in community advertising may involve photography or video recording.
