Position Overview

The Sterile Processing Clinical Trainer plays a pivotal role in delivering extensive education and training to Sterile Processing Technicians, ensuring adherence to industry standards, best practices, and regulatory mandates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates training sessions, workshops, and practical demonstrations to instruct personnel on sterile processing methodologies, infection control protocols, and equipment handling.
  • Designs and implements thorough training programs for sterile processing staff, encompassing orientation for new employees and continuous education for current team members.
  • Collaborates with departmental leaders to assess training requirements and create tailored educational strategies to address specific improvement areas.
  • Remains informed about industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory guidelines concerning sterile processing, integrating this knowledge into training initiatives.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of training programs through evaluations, participant feedback, and performance reviews, making necessary modifications for ongoing enhancement.
  • Engages in quality improvement projects, audits, and compliance efforts to ensure conformity with regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Maintains precise records of training activities, attendance, and staff certifications.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:
Required: Associate's Degree
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree

Experience:
Required: 5-7 years in a role as a Surgical Technologist or Sterile Processing Technician.

Licensure/Certification:
Required: CRCST Certified Central Sterile Technician; CHL and CIS certifications within one year of employment.
Preferred: CST Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
