Southern Cleaning Services Inc is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean building floors, walls, and surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming. Gather and empty trash, and service, clean, and supply restrooms.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and polish furniture and fixtures, clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, and dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Specialized Cleaning: Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, steam-clean or shampoo carpets, and strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Lab Equipment Cleaning: Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware and metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, and power cleaning equipment.
- Building Security and Safety: Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
- Physical Demands: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in facilities maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced facilities environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. May be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
