Job Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to residents in post-acute facilities
- Be accountable for following and adhering to resident care plans
- Measure and monitor blood pressure and other vital signs, reporting to your supervisor as necessary
- Observe the conditions of residents during your shift, reporting any concerns to the broader nursing team
- Serve meals to residents and help with feeding as needed
- Support residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, mobility, and toileting
- Clean and sanitize surfaces, keep residents' rooms clean, change linens, and ensure a hygienic environment
- Act as a conduit between medical staff and residents, and communicate with visitors
- Move residents in and out of wheelchairs and beds, and reposition them as needed
- Offer a compassionate ear to residents and provide much-valued companionship
- Current Connecticut Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
- Knowledge of medical terms and basic nursing care procedures
- Strong observational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with medical professionals and residents
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
