Job Summary

The Vascular Ultrasound Technologist, under the administrative direction of the Clinic Manager and the technical direction of the Vascular Medical Director, performs diagnostic and screening ultrasound exams, including related quality controls and maintains related quality assurance records required for ultrasound services.

Operates real-time ultrasound equipment and communicates technical impressions to the interpreting physician. Assists with records and inventory management. Performs functions as assigned by Clinic Manager.

Requirements
  • Graduate of a two-year radiologic technology program or graduate of an ultrasound technology program
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist Sonography from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Ultrasound Technologist from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) within ninety days of hire into position
  • Registered RVT within twelve months of hire into position
  • BLS Certification with a designation of Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, or Military Training Network within ninety days of hire into position
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year related experience
  • ARDMS with RVT credentials
  • Nuchal Translucency (NTQR) certification within six months of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of radiation safety practices
  • Maintain competency in Diagnostic Ultrasound Techniques
  • Able to function well in stressful situations
  • Coordinating outpatient and in-patient exams for efficient completion
  • Working knowledge of preps for ultrasound and other radiographic exams
