About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist Senior I to join our team at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, an affiliate of Mass General Brigham. As a Medical Laboratory Scientist Senior I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, while also providing leadership and guidance to our laboratory staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform waived and non-waived testing, including specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory personnel, including training, competency assessment, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs, including the establishment of acceptable levels of analytical performance.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems, including instrument malfunctions and sample issues.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results.
  • Participate in proficiency testing programs and quality assurance activities.
  • Stay up-to-date with technical instrumentation and analytical techniques in the clinical laboratory.
  • Assist in the evaluation, validation, and implementation of new methodologies or instruments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Chemical, Physical, or Biological science from an accredited college or university.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent required.
  • 4 or more years of clinical laboratory experience, preferably in a clinical microbiology laboratory.
