The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) will provide immediate medical care and life-saving interventions to individuals experiencing health emergencies in a pre-hospital environment. The EMT is tasked with creating and sustaining programs aimed at preventive health care for employees, offering wellness education, and conducting health assessments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and execute a thorough injury and illness prevention strategy for staff members.
  • Deliver prescribed first-aid care at the scene of an emergency or within a specialized vehicle, performing tasks such as applying splints, administering oxygen or IV fluids, treating minor injuries, or performing CPR, and advising on further medical treatment or referrals.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and the Concentra Onsite Medical Center to facilitate physical evaluations and manage post-injury rehabilitation.
  • Establish and uphold preventive health care initiatives for employees.
  • Provide physical fitness and wellness training to the workforce.
  • Conduct training sessions on CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Administer alcohol and drug screenings in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assess the nature and severity of injuries or illnesses to determine appropriate first aid procedures or the necessity for additional medical support, utilizing information from involved parties, evaluations of victims, and emergency medical knowledge.
  • Assist treatment center staff in gathering and documenting vital information related to victims' health status and emergency circumstances.

Qualifications

Education Level: High School Diploma or GED

  • Valid state EMT-P Certification/EMS license is required.
  • Must maintain EMS licensure throughout employment.
  • Current certifications in CPR and First Aid are necessary.
  • Completion of ACLS course is mandatory.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of two years of experience as an EMT/Paramedic.
  • Experience should include involvement in various administrative, educational, or medical support services.

Skills and Competencies

  • Core competencies in service mentality, attention to detail, urgency, initiative, and adaptability.
  • Ability to make informed decisions or solve problems using logical reasoning to identify key facts and propose effective solutions.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact with individuals in a tactful and professional manner.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic methods to apply suitable treatments for injuries.

  • Skills in assessing customer needs and ensuring service quality.
