Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Streetlight Technician to join our team. As a Streetlight Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing streetlights and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and maintain streetlights and related equipment, including poles, foundations, and electrical connections.
  • Operate heavy and light construction equipment, such as digger derrick trucks, bucket trucks, backhoes, air compressors, generators, and hand tools.
  • Perform work from aerial devices, including climbing ladders and working at heights.
  • Excavate ground areas for the setting of poles or foundations.
  • Keep accurate logs of the job process and maintain organization.
  • Work closely with locating companies to identify underground hazards.
  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and as-builts, and execute the plan accurately.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all persons involved in the construction process.
  • Keep open communication with all levels of management related to all job functions.
  • Work safely near energized and hazardous equipment.
  • Work with first responders for emergency jobs, such as knockdowns.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be proficient in the use of tools, such as voltmeters, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Weather permitting, this is a 40-hour-per-week job, with overtime and weekend hours possible.
  • Knowledge of power delivery and ability to identify power delivery components.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment on and off the road safely.

Physical Requirements
  • RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs.
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stooping, squatting, climbing on/off truck, climbing ladders, pushing, reading, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Carrying, pulling, balancing, body-twisting, hearing/speech range, lifting, lifting up to 10 lbs., manual dexterity, speaking clearly, walking.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, sense of touch, gripping, seeing, reaching, range-of-motion, depth perception, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing.
Safety

Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
