Job Summary:

At SSM Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation of and care for respiratory therapy patients. You will administer prescribed respiratory therapeutic services, implement and monitor patient care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
  • Responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures, and guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
  • Assist with care, calibration, and maintenance of all equipment, and participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses, and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent years of experience and education.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • State-specific certifications and licenses, such as Respiratory Care Practitioner, Registered Respiratory Therapist, or Respiratory Educ Permit.
Work Environment:

As a Respiratory Therapist at SSM Health, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans, and will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
