Position Overview

The chosen candidate will develop expertise in the stainless-steel scrap markets, generating high-quality pricing and news in accordance with the company's PRA methodology. They will collaborate with both regional and global teams to enhance the establishment and acceptance of Fastmarkets' benchmark prices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain, end-uses, and key players in the stainless-steel scrap markets to produce representative pricing and exceptional content.
  • Gather pricing information and establish prices following the company's rigorous methodology, price specifications, and IOSCO principles.
  • Support colleagues in their pricing areas to ensure coverage and consistency in the market while expanding personal knowledge.
  • Conduct peer reviews of prices to confirm adherence to processes and appropriate editorial judgment, ensuring our prices accurately reflect the market.
  • Compose market analyses, breaking news, and insightful articles with PRA perspectives to enhance readership and the application of Fastmarkets' prices in both physical and financial contracts.
  • Expand and manage a network of industry contacts that provide pricing data and exclusive news, utilizing various communication methods including in-person meetings and networking.
  • Address inquiries from contacts and the market regarding specific pricing sessions, seeking guidance from senior reporters or section editors when necessary to maintain transparency in our processes and judgments.
  • Assist the section editor in reviewing and managing the existing pricing pipeline while identifying new price launch opportunities.
  • Promote Fastmarkets' pricing and expertise through the team's market engagement initiatives, which include creating PRA content, white papers, and infographics, participating in internal and external events, promoting the company through various channels, and attending industry meetings.
