Key Responsibilities- Design major components or major portions of a functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations.
- Develop basic data and make preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal.
- Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost.
- Coordinate with other organizations affected by design development.
- Make layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures.
- Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.
- Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommend revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers.
- 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; or 0 years experience with Master's in related field.
- Possess entry-level knowledge utilizing and comprehending Autodesk Inventor Suite.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication and design utilizing Inventor.
- Current or active DoD Secret Clearance preferred.
- Experience with the U.S. Navy Part Task Trainers.
- Experience with Solid Edge, Solid Works, AutoCAD.
- Experience with drawing and modeling designs as part of a Technical Data Package (TDP).
