Emergency Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Nurse to join our team at John Muir Health, working part-time shifts in California. This role requires the ability to manage complex patient care and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
About the JobThis 12-hour per shift position is an excellent opportunity for nurses who value flexibility and variety in their work. As an Emergency Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients experiencing acute injuries or illnesses, utilizing evidence-based practices and relevant patient care models.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the entire spectrum of care for patients receiving conscious sedation, including nerve blocks and cardioversion
- Triage patients effectively and make informed decisions regarding their treatment
- Care for mothers and newborns after delivery, ensuring seamless transitions and quality outcomes
- Stabilize critically ill patients prior to disposition, addressing conditions such as acute stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and respiratory distress
To succeed in this role, you must possess:
Education and Experience:- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1 year of experience in acute care nursing, with a focus on emergency services
- RN registration in California
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association
- PALS certification or ENPC course completion
- Competency in managing precipitous deliveries and caring for mothers and newborns post-delivery
- Able to assume the role of a relief charge nurse
- Familiarity with emergency department cross-trained experience or certifications such as CEN
The estimated salary range for this position is $77.04-$104.97 per hour, based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure. Please note that positions at JMH listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting may contain the word 'exempt' due to overtime eligibility under managerial roles.
