About the Role

The role of Domestic Assistant is responsible for providing individualised domestic assistance to clients, enabling them to live in their homes with dignity and independence. This involves maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting with daily living tasks, and promoting positive relationships with clients and their families.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualised domestic assistance to clients, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Assist clients with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces and equipment
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families
• Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve client outcomes

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience of cleaning functions and their importance in building client social capacity
• Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse team and setting own goals and achieving outcomes
• Understanding and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues in Australian society, particularly in relation to health and aged care
• Ability to respond and adapt to competing priorities while working unsupervised
• Ability to empathise with aged people, their families, and personal carers

Desirable Qualifications

• Certificate III in Cleaning Services or similar
• Demonstrated experience in an aged care or disability setting
