About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Product Owner to join our team at NexusLeap. As a Data Product Owner, you will be responsible for driving data product development by mobilizing engineering teams and working with business executives in parallel.

At NexusLeap, we create beautiful dashboards, build optimized data pipelines, and implement bespoke data products that immediately impact our clients. Our team is passionate about leveraging data to drive business decisions and improve outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building analytics products in an agile environment
  • Presenting dashboards and technical updates that provide strategic insights to stakeholders and business executives
  • Utilizing business acumen, analytic mindset, and strong communication/people skills to extract business requirements and translate them into actionable tasks
  • Aptitude for understanding multiple disciplines and technologies and the ability to implement relevant business logic to resolve issues identified during validation
  • Collaborating effectively with customers and translating requirements to engineering teams and backlog prioritization
  • Partnering with technical team lead(s) to provide continuous support and prioritization for ongoing product orchestration, tracking, and optimization of ETL processes to handle large volumes of data, including data queries, indexing, and partitioning
  • Proactively identifying potential product risks and collaborating with technical teams to develop solutions, while effectively managing client expectations through the process
  • Innate ability to quickly pivot and prioritize tasking for engineers for troubleshooting and resolving issues when data pipelines break
  • Comfortably using SQL to query tables for validation and dashboarding
  • Documenting comprehensive functional and technical specifications for fault-tolerant, reliable, and easy-to-run systems whilst ensuring product delivery dates track with customer targets and timelines
Requirements
  • Extremely articulate and concise
  • 2+ years of work experience with data analytics and product development
  • Experience in delivering sophisticated data processing and data pipelines using agile methodologies
  • Proficiency in SQL (2+ years)
  • Experience identifying root causes of issues related to data or reporting
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing and architecture
  • Created intuitive dashboards using Power BI
  • Easily navigated large datasets (500M+ rows)
  • Collaborated with a development team with established source control (git)
  • Served as a subject matter expert and applied knowledge of data analytics and process improvement to drive change autonomously
  • Carried out work streams from start to final execution, proactively identified risks, streamlined cross-functional efforts, and owned accountability for success
