Duke University is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Duke Raleigh Hospital, A Campus of Duke University Hospital. As a Registered Nurse on our 3rd floor Orthopedics unit, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and provide high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in orthopedic nursing and be able to work effectively in a team environment. As a Registered Nurse on our 3rd floor Orthopedics unit, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, wound care, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patient progress, identify potential complications, and take appropriate action to prevent or mitigate them.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve patient care.
- Graduation from an accredited BSN program.
- Current RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- At least 12 months of experience in a hospital setting, preferably in orthopedic nursing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
