Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Gersh Autism is seeking a skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech therapy support to children with autism. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech and language pathology, with experience working with children with autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide speech and language therapy to children with autism, promoting optimal function and engagement in meaningful activities.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines, including occupational therapists, psychologists, and special education teachers, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and weakness in speech and language skills.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address areas of need, including language, auditory processing, articulation, and voice fluency.
  • Work with children who have autism, utilizing evidence-based practices and strategies to promote communication and social skills.
  • Utilize behavior management techniques to support children with autism in developing self-regulation skills.
  • Write comprehensive evaluations and progress reports to document student progress and inform treatment planning.
  • Consult and collaborate with parents, schoolteachers, and fellow colleagues to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student services and subsequent needs, in compliance with state and local requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders.
  • TSSLD certification preferred.
  • PROMPT Experience preferred.
Working Conditions
  • Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 4:00pm, part-time available.
  • Must have flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on school events.
  • School/Classroom Setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to keep students safe from themselves and others and in some cases may need to implement CPI procedures.
  • Must be able to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations and in some cases be able to lift a child.
