Job Summary:

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at the Arizona State Veterans' Home, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our veterans. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who have served our country.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily living assistance to veterans, including transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist nursing staff with medical procedures, such as enemas, treatments, post-surgical care, and post-mortem care.
  • Monitor physical and mental status of veterans by taking vital signs, obtaining samples, and tracking input/output.
  • Document medical records and worksheets, maintain cleanliness, and prepare simple reports.
  • Assist veterans with dining, including transporting them to the dining room, informing them of menu choices, and serving them meals.
  • Respond to patient requests for assistance in a timely manner, following established policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Active certification to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Arizona.
  • Fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
  • Preferred 1+ years of experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care facility.
  • Understanding of para-professional nursing practices, state and agency laws, medical equipment usage, and maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
