**Job Summary**
The Dietary Cook works under the supervision of the Culinary Manager and the Dietary Manager at Powerlink, a leading provider of Healthcare Integrated Services to Long-Term Care and Senior Living Facilities. The cook must have skills in food preparation, production control, inventory control, kitchen safety, sanitation, equipment use and cleaning/sanitizing, food safety, recipe adherence, therapeutic diets, and modified textured foods and liquids.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assists the manager with ordering and receiving as necessary.
- Maintains a clean and safe work area.
- Assists dietary aides as necessary.
- Works independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to stand up to 10 hours a day.
**Requirements**
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a cook in long term care or other healthcare setting.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with others.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Background in safety and sanitation compliance.
- Current ServSafe certification or Food Handler certification is preferred.
