About the Role

Anchor Glass Container Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our storeroom inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchasing and Inventory Control: Procure and manage all storeroom inventory items, ensuring compliance with established internal control procedures.
  • Inventory Analysis and Optimization: Conduct daily inventory analysis to identify and resolve inventory-related issues, and develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and maximize production efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with plant management and department managers to maintain proper inventory control over satellite storerooms, and communicate effectively with accounts payable personnel at the corporate office.
  • Logistics and Administration: Prepare packages for mailing through various carriers, and coordinate the receipt and shipment of non-finished goods materials for the manufacturing plant.
  • Cost Savings Initiatives: Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives, including vendor negotiation, usage reduction, and alternate supplier identification.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma with at least 5 years of experience in inventory control or a related field. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Good communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft software, and attention to detail.
