Breastfeeding Consultant Job Description: We are seeking a skilled lactation consultant to provide high-quality breastfeeding support to new mothers and their families at the Breastfeeding Center of Greenville.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical care as an IBCLC, including assessing breastfeeding challenges, providing corrective interventions, and counseling mothers.
  • Document all support and advice provided to patients, developing individualized feeding plans to meet patient goals and promote optimal growth in infants.

Primary Functions:
  1. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, utilizing clinical lactation skills and decision-making to ensure comprehensive care.
  2. Perform lab functions necessary for infant and breastfeeding mother care, administering immunizations and/or injections at provider direction.

Supportive Tasks:
  1. Offer positive feedback and emotional support to dyads, promoting continued breastfeeding and sharing current evidence-based information.
  2. Provide ongoing support to patients through phone or web messages, documenting advice and support given.
15%

Collaborative Environment: We value collaboration with our team to achieve the goals of the Breastfeeding Center.

Required Education & Certifications:
  • Healthcare certification (MA, RT, CNA, or LPN/RN preferred).
  • Current IBCLC certification or currently seeking certification; if not yet IBCLC-certified, must have CLC, CBS, or comparable lactation certification.
  • One year experience working in an outpatient/physician office setting and/or lactation services within any medical facility.
  • Must obtain IBCLC within 1 year of starting position; current IBCLC preferred.
