About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Seasonal Sales Associate to join our team at Belk, Inc. & Belk eCommerce LLC. As a Seasonal Sales Associate, you will play a critical role in driving store sales, metrics, and execution through exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Engagement: Proactively greet and engage customers in a professional and friendly manner, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Store Standards: Maintain Belk professional dress standards and appearance, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Sales and Metrics: Support the store in meeting or exceeding sales goals and metrics, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve defined tasks.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Work professionally and pleasantly with coworkers, customers, and managers to accomplish tasks, prioritizing the customer and demonstrating flexibility to assist when needed.
  • Technology and Service Skills: Comfortably use technology to sell to customers, performing duties such as maintaining store standards, including rotation of products, displaying merchandise properly, pricing and signing, and restocking as necessary.
  • Operational Processes: Follow procedures for all systems, including counts, markdowns, re-tickets, and inventory control, ensuring new merchandise is unpacked, displayed, and signed in a timely manner.
  • Safety and Security: Follow all safety guidelines for curbside customer experience, maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Maintain adaptability to shift between tasks based on queues and needs of the business, utilizing the promotional calendar to maximize sales and department events.
  • Policies and Procedures: Follow policies and procedures outlined in the associate handbook, ensuring responsibilities are met in assigned areas.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in retail preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills required.
Physical Requirements
  • Computer and Technology: Ability to use computer keyboard, touchscreen monitor, handheld devices, standard telephone, and other related business equipment.
  • Physical Demands: Hand manipulation to remove sensor tags, ability to push/pull pounds when moving stock carts, and task demands varying in each department due to different types of merchandise, including reaching above and below shoulder level and lifting 25-50 pound boxes.
