Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Allied Public Risk, LLC. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for overseeing production, underwriting, and profitability of book of business, reviewing assigned new business submissions, analyzing loss runs, and calculating loss ratios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production, underwriting, and profitability of book of business;
  • Review assigned new business submissions to verify that the risk qualifies and all required underwriting documentation has been obtained;
  • Analyze loss runs and calculate loss ratios;
  • Prepare referrals on accounts outside of authority and send to Lead Underwriter for review and approval;
  • Achieve new business hit ratio and retention goals;
  • Assist in technical training to new underwriting team members;
  • Coordinate with UW Support to issue error-free policies and endorsements;
  • Participate in new business development and establish strong relationships with assigned production sources;
  • Meet performance standards for response time, quoting, binding, issuance, endorsements, and other underwriting level responsibilities;
  • Work toward becoming a subject matter expert regarding primary public entity coverage and emerging issues in the public entity segment.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, strong analytical skills, solid computer skills, and ability to independently use Microsoft Office Products. Additionally, you should have experience in insurance underwriting, preferably in the public entity segment, and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field. CPCU or ARM designation is preferred.
