Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator III to join our team at Delphinus Engineering. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and installing sheet metal components for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and fabricate sheet metal components using various materials, including galvanized steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
  • Operate and maintain a range of hand tools and power tools, including welding equipment.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements
  • 5-8 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication, with a strong background in welding and metalworking.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, written requirements, and ship terminology.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise and direct a small team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a shipyard or marine engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of Habitation layout and installation of metal joiner (MJ) bulkheads, MJ doors, berths, galleys, and office outfitting.
  • Ability to fabricate and install sheet metal items, vent, flashing, racks, lockers, bulkhead panels, and sanitary space installations.
