We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Plumbing/HVAC Project Manager to join our team at Maxwell Plumb Mechanical. The ideal candidate will be a local professional with a stable work history and possess a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME). The candidate should have a minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in commercial plumbing and HVAC design, estimating, and project management.
Key Responsibilities- Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Estimating and Pricing: Estimate and price from plans for proposals, and conduct on-site assessments to price jobs in the plumbing and AC field.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to AC/heating division technicians, with a strong understanding of controls and engineering to bring the best product to the customer and solve problems.
- Contract Setup: Assist in setting up contract jobs with materials and labor.
- Client Communication: Communicate with potential clients to create relationships and sell jobs.
- Value-Added Services: Look for opportunities to bring value to our customers with new products and technology.
- Compliance: Understand New York laws and regulations to assist our customers in compliance.
- Project Budgeting: Manage project budgets and track expenses.
- Project Reporting: Prepare and submit project reports.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and provide regular updates.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience, with 3 years of experience in a supervising or managerial role, and 5 years of project management experience.
- Skills: Proven track record of managing projects, working knowledge of the cost of goods and services, ability to solicit, evaluate, and manage the price, schedule, and quality of objectives of individual projects, understanding of the sequencing of work and the strategy of creating effective project schedules, understanding of project cost control and change order management, ability to prioritize large volumes of complex work to meet established deadlines, OSHA 30hr certification, PMP certified or committed to obtain it within 12 months, proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word, proven leadership ability and detail-oriented, excellent time management and problem-solving skills, strong organizational and communication skills, dispute resolution skills, proven safety knowledge and skills, and a valid driver's license.
