SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our Blood Bank team on a PRN basis. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, interpreting test results, and communicating findings to physicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex technical laboratory analyses using established procedures and protocols.
- Interpret test reports and communicate findings to physicians, escalating unusual or critical results as needed.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments, ensuring accuracy and maintaining equipment and reagents through established preventive maintenance procedures.
- Assist providers in choosing appropriate lab tests, evaluate new testing methods, and maintain competencies and continuing education to stay informed of new developments in the field.
- Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure efficient and accurate testing, and participate in the proficiency testing program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
- No experience required, but a strong foundation in laboratory science and a commitment to ongoing education and professional development are essential.
