River Expedition Leader

Take on the challenge of leading groups of up to 48 people on thrilling river expeditions through Alaska's stunning wilderness. As a raft guide, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of your guests while navigating the rivers of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Guest Experience: Maintain constant awareness of guest safety and river conditions, create an engaging and educational experience for guests, and manage groups of up to 48 people during daily tours.
- Equipment & Operations: Set up and break down rafting equipment daily, conduct pre-trip equipment checks and maintenance, drive vehicles with guests and equipment as needed, and complete daily guide checklists and incident reports.
- Team & Professional Development: Work collaboratively within a tight-knit guide team, participate in ongoing training and skill development, maintain professional appearance and attitude, and communicate effectively with program managers and maintenance staff.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be 19 or older by June 2025.
- Wilderness First Responder, CPR, and Swift Water Rescue certified.
- Ability to lift and carry 80 pounds repeatedly over uneven terrain.
- Excellent communication and group management skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Benefits:
- Seasonal flow with 20-30 hours per week during shoulder season and 40+ hours per week during peak season.
- Opportunity to obtain Class B CDL and additional compensation for bus driving duties.
- Employee housing in our campground with amenities such as plumbed bathroom/shower facilities, secure communal cooking area, and guide room with WiFi and electrical access.
- $100 monthly rent with pro-rated first month and full final month payment required regardless of early departure.
